What Are Weighted Blankets?

According to "The Weighted Blanket Guide" by Eileen Parker & Cara Koscinski, weighted blankets are therapeutic tools used to assist people with disabilities. They are made up of two pieces of fabric sewn together with heavy filling on the inside.



Uses of Weighted Blankets

They can be used to help with the following conditions:

  • Insomnia

  • Chronic Pain

  • Motor Agitation

  • ADHD

  • Autism

  • and many more

Weighted Blankets & Sewable lights

Sewable lights can be added to weighted blankets as an accessory. We have been looking at LIFX. It is fairly easy to code and the beams are quite nice.


Next steps:

I have scheduled a meeting with Daniel to learn how to sew. The meeting is set to take place this week.
